Green champions youth development as Platinum Sponsor of the 9th National ICT Summit
Green Enterprise Solutions (Green), a proudly Namibian ICT company, will support the 9th National ICT Summit as a Platinum Sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to developing local ICT talent and advancing Namibia’s digital economy.
The 9th National ICT Summit will take place from 12 to 16 October 2026 at the Ongwediva Trade Centre in the Oshana Region. This marks the first time the Summit will take place in northern Namibia.
This year’s Summit is themed “Harnessing ICT for Inclusive Growth: Digital Pathways to Reduce Unemployment and Eradicate Poverty.” The theme highlights how technology can create economic opportunities and develop skills for the digital economy.
Green shares this focus through its long-standing investment in developing local ICT talent.
Since 2018, Green has run a structured Learning and Development Programme. Through its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme, the company gives students practical exposure to the ICT industry. Interns gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship and contribute to real-world projects.
The programme covers software development, infrastructure technologies, networking, cybersecurity, and administrative functions. Internships generally run for three to six months.
Green’s investment in young talent also creates pathways into permanent employment. Former interns who transitioned into full-time roles now account for nearly 14% of Green’s permanent workforce. The company currently employs more than 125 people.
“Technology is not only about the solutions we develop. It is also about the people who develop, implement, and use those solutions,” said Ilana Erasmus, Sales & Operations Manager | Energy BDM, Green Enterprise Solutions. “We believe that investing in young Namibians is an investment in the future of our ICT sector and the wider economy.”
Green has supported previous editions of the National ICT Summit and continues to engage with stakeholders on issues shaping Namibia’s technology sector.
Since 2014, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has convened ICT experts, policymakers, businesses, innovators, and other industry stakeholders through the National ICT Summit. The event provides a platform to discuss industry challenges, showcase solutions and identify opportunities to strengthen Namibia’s digital economy.
Through its continued support of the National ICT Summit and investment in local talent, Green is helping strengthen Namibia’s ICT sector and expand opportunities for young Namibians to participate in the country’s digital future.
